The Teddy Tour of Imaginif and All for Women
Written by admin on January 21, 2008 – 8:34 pm -
Imaginif and All for Women
have had enough of the secrecy around child sexual assault.
Together, we have joined a sistership and are providing a confidential blogospheric tour for all people who were sexually assaulted and abused as children.
This blogospheric Teddy Tour is a changing display of teddies each confidentially representing a real person (man, woman or child) affected by sexual assault / abuse. Teddies have long been a symbol of childhood. Teddies have long been patched up, thrown aside and pulled out when needed…much like the lives of many people affected by child sexual abuse.
It is time to give the teddies a voice. If you are a survivor of child sexual abuse then we want to put your story on a teddy and have that teddy confidentially represent you. Your story will go onto a tag that you will send to us. The story WILL NOT contain any identifying information of either yourself or your perpetrator (make up fictitious names) and we will NEVER disclose who we think the tag really came from.
Will this cost you anything? Yes, it will cost you letter postage to Australia (or you can email your tag to imaginifatbigponddotcom). We do not want a teddy from you, just a post card sized tag to put on teddies that we have from previous involvement in physical teddy tours. I’ll take a photo, upload it for the world to see and scan/upload your tag as well so that everyone can clearly see and feel your words - your message - your story.
You have monetized this site, where does that money go? Imaginif and All for Women are sister sites. We have a strong sistership and we believe in helping at the grass roots level. Any revenue from Google Ad clicks or affiliate sales will go toward a grass roots movement that supports families affected by sexual assault. Revenue may be used as competition money on either site, one off small loans to struggling single parents or even to sponsor a survivor to attend a conference or set up their own blog site. We will be giving the money back to those affected by sexual violence as children.
Be silent no longer. Take this completely confidential opportunity to tell your story of child sexual assault. Give a teddy a voice and raise a community that recognises and prevents child sexual abuse. Support our sponsors and you support Imaginif and All for Women’s commitment to ending child abuse.
Help us spread the voice of survivors.

This is a wonderful idea and I really hope it helps anyone who has been sexually assaulted and/or abused.

Thanks women. It’s time to get this out there so please stumble it, digg it, add it to your blog rolls, what ever you have to do.
I’ll be announcing it on my blog tomorrow (have just announced the sistership between All for Women and Imaginif and now cannot wait to get the groovy teddy tour banner on my site).
Thanks so much for your support women.

This is going to be a hard site to read, but kudos to you and Leigh for getting it started. If it helps these survivors at all then it’s SO worth it.

Wow! This is a fantastic thing you guys are doing. I’ll be blogging about this soon. Have you got any buttons we can put on our sites?
Well done for getting the message out.

Thanks so much for your kudos Jen and Guera.
Guera it would be great to have some Teddy Tags from Mexico if you know any survivors there - this is an international tour, so tell them to send their stories in.
We do have a banner you could put on your site - the one at the top/middle of the page. I’ll just check with Leigh that she’s okay with that and to see if she has any other sexy little 125×125’s which would be great for side bars.

Hi Megan,
I just had a look at this new site and I reckon that this is such a great idea.
This makes people realise what is happening to too many children al over the world!
