Siblings, six and seven, abused by a stranger

Brother and sister molested by stranger

The above hand written tag came directly from a survivor of child sexual abuse. I spent some time with the survivor and this is part of her story: Her younger brother and herself were both “molested” by an unknown assailant. When the children told their mother, their mother acted protectively but the perpetrator could neither be identified or caught. Sadly, the brother never had the opportunity to reach full healing and integration of his pain. He completed suicide as a direct result of his childhood trauma and confusion. May he rest in peace and may his sister know that we understand how important the healing journey and prevention of child sexual abuse is.

Release from fear comes slowly, often with the help of a trained counsellor, but it does come. Nancy-Teddy is now 55 years old and wears happy shoes, as she skips and dances out of the shadows into the light.
